The current major release of the Waterken server is version 4.x, described above. The 3.x version of the server used XML/XSLT in place of JSON/Javascript. [[CapWiki]], a wiki with capability-based access control, was built on the 3.x version of the server. The wiki has not yet been ported to the 4.x release. The [http://erights.org/download/horton/ reference implementation of Horton] is expressed in Waterken/Joe-E, for the 4.x version of the server.
